This European Patent concerns the use of nanoparticles comprising an analyte in the prepartion of a calibration standard for use in an analytical atomic spectroscopic technique and a method of calibrating such an instrument. The application for this European Patent was made by Reagecon with inventors John Barron, Vaclav Sychra and John O’Keefe. Examples included in the patent are the Use of Nanoparticle Standards in the Determination of Copper in Oil by ICP-OES and the Use of Nanoparticle Standards in the determination of Iron in Water by ICP, all of which can be viewed in the full patent.

Reagecon have also obtained a United States patent in this regard.
